Our team extends from the rural mountains of the Huancavelica province of central Peru, to our atelier in the coastal capital of Lima. The fibers we use are worked and woven by local craftsmen and women, while all the finishings are done in our Lima studio, where our design team works to blend classical and contemporary cuts, making sure that each garment serves as a beautiful piece of armor.
Quincho’s textile-weaving skills along with Leoncia’s embroidery techniques serve as the first stepping stone for ESCUDO’s design structure and overall inspiration. It’s within the confines of their humble workshop, in the remote town of Huancavelica (Peru), that he and his family greet us with a local beer. As we relax, Quincho joins his wife and fellow artisans and they return to their weaving and embroidering, practicing ancient traditions that have been in their families for generations. The garments they makes are a testament to the hard work of a struggling community, the importance of preserving ancient customs and our team’s passion for design.
